Contactless withdrawal
On all ATMs with NFC (Near Field Communication), you can withdraw cash without inserting your bank debit card or credit card into the ATM.
Like many POS terminals in shops, restaurants and supermarkets, you hold your phone, smartwatch or bank debit card near the reader to start and complete the transaction. You will recognise the NFC reader by the contactless payment icon on the ATM and on the screen. A light is lit near the reader.
Fast and smooth cash withdrawals
Contactless payment ensures a quick transaction and reduces the risk of malfunctions. In addition, the ATM is more accessible. By now, you can withdraw money contactless at many of our ATMs. This can be seen by a vignette on the screen and by the lights at the NFC reader.
However, all domestic and foreign banks have different conditions. So check with your own bank to be sure.
Frequently asked questions
Many of our ATMs are suitable for use with a contactless card, phone or smartwatch (NFC). It depends on your bank if and how this is offered.
There are times when an ATM is out of order. This can have various causes. Often an ATM is available again after one or a few days, sometimes it takes longer.
Most common situation is that the ATM is empty. Cash withdrawals have peaks and troughs. A peak can occur locally, for instance, when there is an event such as a funfair or fair. Nationwide, peaks can occur during holidays with many events (King's Day), at times when holiday money, salary or benefits are paid out and in periods/areas with a lot of tourism. Obviously, Geldmaat and its cash transporter make every effort to minimise the impact of peaks.
On our locatiewijzer we indicate whether an ATM is available.
If the ATM indicates that your card is blocked, contact your bank. Geldmaat has no access to your account details and therefore does not know why your card has been blocked
