Frequently asked questions
You can withdraw cash until your debit card limit is reached. At some ATMs, you won't succeed in one withdrawal. Because the dispenser can only handle a maximum number of notes. In that case, withdraw cash in several transactions.
You were too late taking out your notes or you forgot to take out your money. In that case, the ATM will withdraw the notes again.
With some banks, the amount is usually credited to your account the next day. This may vary from bank to bank.
If your money is not credited to your account, contact your bank. Geldmaat can only look at what happened in the ATM. Due to privacy laws, we are not allowed to view your account details. The bank can. Your bank takes action and contacts Geldmaat if necessary.
If more investigation is needed, they will wait until it is the ATM's turn to be filled and/or emptied. For ATMs that are not used much, this may take several weeks. We then check whether there are any irregularities.
There are times when an ATM is out of order. This can have various causes. Often an ATM is available again after one or a few days, sometimes it takes longer.
Most common situation is that the ATM is empty. Cash withdrawals have peaks and troughs. A peak can occur locally, for instance, when there is an event such as a funfair or fair. Nationwide, peaks can occur during holidays with many events (King's Day), at times when holiday money, salary or benefits are paid out and in periods/areas with a lot of tourism. Obviously, Geldmaat and its cash transporter make every effort to minimise the impact of peaks.

A helping hand withdrawing and depositing cash
At shops with Geldmaat+, the retailer offers a helping hand when using the ATM. For example, when you come to deposit money or want to know how voice support works.
Contactless withdrawals and deposits
Many of our ATMs allow you to withdraw money contactless using your card or phone. Check with your bank whether you can use this.
